Whether you agree or disagree with all feedback you receive, recognize all of these data points are based off the perception of those around you. That’s where frequency is helpful as well – getting more data points, more often. Over time, you will be able to see patterns in the data points. It’s helpful to reflect on feedback you don’t agree with and try and think why someone might be sharing that feedback with you.

The other important piece is trust. Assume people want to help you and know even if not said well, it is coming from a good place. It’s your job to find the pearls of wisdom in feedback; there’s usually a kernel of truth to it.
